THE "SUN" / TUMOR _
"HOLY FUCK! Did you just see that? Did we... did we catch that on camera? What the fuck. Did the Sun... did it just shudder?" —— guy that dies in NECROPHANTASMAGORIA (20XX)
The Tumor can be considered the antagonist of NECROPHANTASMAGORIA. It is an evil, sentient entity that has eaten and replaced the Sun in the Earth’s solar system.
It is not known to humanity that their "Sun" is alive and conscious. The Tumor operates as any sun would, for the most part; conducting the solar cycle and slowly... getting... brighter...
The Tumor communicates crudely with those on Earth through false solar radiation, corrupting the operation of electronic, digital, and analog devices. In some cases, it also messes with a population’s mind and subconscious. It is unknown if The Tumor acts on its disgust for humanity or simply because it is seeking its next thrill. Whatever it is, The Tumor has decided that its time to send a precursor for the end.
It is rather fond of homunculi which it considers its children.
The Tumor has been around since there was life on Earth. Around 400 million years ago, it grew strong enough to engulf the Earth’s Sun. It sent imposing cosmic radiation to create the first homunculi.
Around 100 million years ago, it manipulated gravitational and magnetic fields to open up E-Temeng-Igru (The Abyss) on Earth as a home to its homunculi.
Recently (~1000 years ago), it has entered a stalemate-like state, neutralizing its radiation to be much more harmless. This is the radiation that humans mistake for solar radiation. At the beginning of the game, The Tumor is undergoing a process that is akin to waking up.
